E-
Short for electronic Almost as tired as CYBER-, the e- prefix is now used extensively to describe new, digital forms of old practices: e-mail, e-commerce, e-tailing, e-zine.
eBook
An eBook is an electronic version of a traditional print book that can be read by using a personal computer or by using an eBook reader.
E-Business
Another term for E-Commerce. Using web and Internet technologies in conducting the business activities, Also expanding end enhancing traditional business practices by means of the Internet
E-Commerce
Broadly, the buying and selling of goods and services on the Internet With the possible exception of pornography, no other area of the Internet has attracted more attention than retail e-commerce.
E-Commerce / Ecommerce Hosting
E-commerce hosting is a business in which a company provides other companies with whatever they need to sell their products and services on the World Wide Web - including a Web server to serve a company's pages, possibly the Web site design (including catalogues pages), and the special capabilities needed to accept, process, and confirm sales orders
EDI / Electronic Data Interchange
A set of standards for exchanging orders and other business transactions by electronic mail.
Edu
When these letters appear at the end of an address (info@mit.edu), they indicate that the host computer is run by an educational institution. It also means that the host computer is most likely located in the United States
EFF / Electronic Frontier Foundation
A non-profit organization that campaigns for online civil liberties Founded in 1990 by John Perry Barlow and Mitch Kapor, the EFF is a loud voice against censorship and an influential supporter of free speech and privacy.
e-form / Electronic form
An e-form is a computer program version of a paper form.
EIA
(Electronic Industries Association) An industry trade organization involved with definition of standards for electrical consumer products. It works jointly with the TIA (Telecommunications Industry Association).
Email
An electronic message transmitted over the Internet and send from one person to another (although you can also send e-mail to a large number of email addresses).
Email Aliases
The alternative name(s) for an email account. The email will be redirected to the original email address.
E-Mail Auto responders/Vacation Messages
Allow customers to set up an automatic message to respond to anyone who sends email to the customer
E-mail filter
The e-mail filter is a different service from the SPAM filter. The SPAM filter has two levels of protection (low and high), while e-mail filter has specific conditions and requirements, which should be set up manually for additional filtration according to the specified conditions for receiving and sorting of your incoming e-mail messages
E-mail Forwarding / Redirects
By default, all e-email addressed to your domain will be forwarded to your real e-mail address. For convenience, you can specify addresses to be forwarded to different addresses on the Internet. For example, e-mail addressed to sales(AT)cyberlogichost.com, help(AT)cyberlogichost.com could be forwarded to an account like info(AT)cyberlogichost.com.
Emulation
The imitation of all or part of a device, terminal, or computer by another, so that the imitating device accepts the same data, performs the same functions and appears to the other network devices as the imitated device.
Encapsulation
The addition of control information to a Packet Data Unit (PDU) by a protocol entity to the data obtained from a protocol user.
Encoder
A program that converts data from one form to another, often with the aim of reducing its size
Encryption
The conversion of a message or data file into a form that cannot be understood by unauthorized readers Encryption is the technology that makes E-Commerce possible because it underlies the security systems used to protect electronic financial transactions.
End-to-End Management
The concept of End-to-End means that "something" is considered as a whole, even though it may be constructed or provided using multiple constituents distributed over several domains. For instance, an end-to-end world-wide telecommunications service is offered as a single item to its customers or the end-to-end telecommunications management of an environment results from the management of each constituent domain.
e-procurement
e-procurement is the business-to-business purchase and sale of supplies and services over the Internet. Typically, e-procurement Web sites allow qualified and registered users to look for buyers or sellers of goods and services.
Ethernet
A 10-megabit/second local area network developed by Xerox and now widely adopted. Hosts are connected to a coaxial cable, and transmission conflicts are avoided by backing off and re-sending later. IEEE standard 802.3 defines the hardware and transport layers of the network.

A long-established E-Mail program, especially popular among Apple Macintosh users
EULA / End User License Agreement
EULA is a legal contract between a software application author or publisher and the user of that application.
e-wallet
This is an application, stored either on a Web server or with a Web browser that conveniently stores and manages a consumer's billing, shipping, and payment information to streamline interactions with Web merchants. It is also called a virtual wallet. Typically, information in the wallet is encrypted and is persistent from session to session.
Extranet
A network built on standard Internet technology, typically used by an organization to share information with customers, suppliers and other business partners. An extranet is generally an extension of a company's Intranet, modified to allow access by specified external users.
Exim
Exim is a message transfer agent developed at the University of Cambridge for use on Unix systems connected to the Internet. Freely available under the terms of the GNU General Public License, Exim can be configured to allow users to set up filter files as an alternative to the traditional '.forward' files. A filter file can test various characteristics of a message, including the contents of the headers and the start of the body, and direct delivery to specified addresses, files, or pipes according to what it finds. This makes it easy for us to help you filter out SPAM and viruses
