Zine
An alternative magazine, sometimes in electronic format, Most zines have small circulations and are published for a specific reading community like those interested in experimental art forms and music. A whole subculture of fan zines has grown up in the past two decades. There are now many Webzines, multimedia zines published only on the web.

Zip
Refers to a file which has been zipped (compressed), or the act of zipping.

ZMODEM
A file transfer protocol. It's the fastest of XMODEM and YMODEM and thus the most popular

Zone
An area under a particular administrative or other control, for example a domain name is a zone in the name server configuration. Generally a zone can be further divided into sub-zones with authority delegated to their own administrators and servers.

Zone file
The group of files that reside on the domain host or nameserver, The zone file designates a domain, its sub domains and mail server

Zoo
A zoo is a Web site that holds collections of Internet virus. These sites may be illegal in certain countries.

Zope / Z Object Publishing Environment
Zope is a Web site builder and application server that uses the idea that it is server (or "publishing") object rather than merely providing content that will be added to a Web page. Zope's proponents believe that it is competitive with site builders and application servers such as Cold Fusion and the Netscape Application Server. Zope is free software with Open Source code.
